Have you ever asked, “What did I do wrong?” when God was asking, “Can I show My power through you?”

His blindness has nothing to do with his sins or his parents’ sins. He is blind so that God’s power might be seen at work in him.” — John 9:3

God, the Creator of all creation. He created heaven and earth. He created humans, animals, and plants, clearly distinguishing them from one another. He went ahead to create humans in different forms, sizes, and shapes.

He created giants, dwarfs, the short, the tall, the slim, the chubby, and so on.He did the same with animals and plants. Why?Because He could. Because He’s capable. To show how great He is. To show the magnitude of His power. To show that His power has no bounds, so that we may understand that He can do all things.

In John chapter 9, Jesus Christ was walking with His disciples when they saw a man who was born blind. The disciples asked whose fault it was that the man was that way. I think this is where we often get it wrong as Christians.

“I didn’t get the job. It’s probably the devil’s work.”“

My mates are all at the university and I’m still stuck here at home. There’s something I’ve done wrong.”

“I just don’t understand the direction my life is heading. What’s going on exactly?”

We ask these questions and make these conclusions, forgetting that we are God’s vessels, created to serve Him, so that the world might see God’s glory through us.

If we don’t find ourselves in situations everyone sees as difficult, with God being there to save us at last, how will they know that it is God who delivers us from all evil?

Or how will the world know that He can bring something out of nothing?

Or how would we know that it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that showeth mercy?

Jesus answered in verse 3 that it was neither the man’s fault nor his parents’, but that he was blind so that God’s power might be seen at work in him. This tells us that sometimes it’s not our sins or the devil at work—it’s about people seeing God at work in our lives. It’s about people seeing how powerful He is, and that he’s capable.

So when we find ourselves in situations like this, we ought to trust God and pray for patience, so that the will of God can be manifested in our lives. And at the end of the day, all glory will be given unto God, as it should be.

Shalom🙏.
